Record Store Day delayed

Just to let you know that unfortunately due to the Corona virus, Record Store Day has been moved back to June 20th this year.

Full statement is here.

Record Store Day

We are excited to be celebrating Record Store Day on the 18th April with the release of ‘One From The Modern’ on special 2LP Green Vinyl.

One From The Modern

“Ocean Colour Scene’s 4th album, ‘One From The Modern’ is coming on special 2LP Green Vinyl for Record Store Day!

The album includes three hit singles – the protest song ‘Profit in Peace’, followed by the more classic OCS sound of ‘So Low’ and double ‘A’ side, ‘I Am the News / July’.

‘One From The Modern’ was a slight departure from the previous two albums, with a more reflective, soulful and pastoral sound as well as a more political slant, albeit with a late-60s psychedelic slant, reminiscent of The Byrds, Small Faces or later-period Beatles.

The whole album still retains the band’s trademark melodic style, with a refined, rich sound that gives the material a contemporary twist, avoiding the pitfalls of relying on a merely nostalgic or ‘retro’ orientated approach. Don’t forget the psychedelic freak-out instrumental ending of ‘I Am the News’…!”

When P.P. Arnold arrived in London in 1966 to support The Rolling Stones as one of Ike & Tina Turner’s backing singers, The Ikettes, little did she know that her world was about to be turned upside down. The 19-year-old caught the eye of Mick Jagger, who would persuade her to stay in London and record as a solo artist – ultimately leading to a five-decade career working with everyone from Jagger, the Small Faces, Rod Stewart, Barry Gibb and Eric Clapton, to Nick Drake, Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters, the KLF, Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene and Primal Scream, to name a few.

She became a ’60s icon with the timeless pop hits ‘The First Cut Is The Deepest’ and ‘Angel Of The Morning’ on ultra-hip Immediate label, soul singer P.P. Arnold is now releasing an album of stunning new material featuring contributions from, among others, Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Cradock and The Specials.

Album includes the single, Baby Blue
